Homeowner project support

Manage your own project, with RPS in your corner.

Want to run your home project yourself and hire the crews directly? Retain RPS to manage your project alongside you. You get a step-by-step guide, the paperwork you need, a pricing guideline, vetted crews to choose from, and a project assistant when you need advice.

What you get

Five things you get as an RPS client.

When you retain RPS for project support, you stay in charge of your project. We give you the tools, the paperwork, the people and the backup so you can manage it with confidence.

A step-by-step project guide

A plain-language manual for each project you want to manage. It walks you through every stage, from planning and hiring to payments, inspections and close-out.

The paperwork, explained

The documents a Texas project calls for, including the state's statutory lien waiver and release forms. We show you how to fill each one out and when to collect it, so every payment is documented.

A pricing guideline

A guide to what crews typically charge for your type of project, by the hour, by the linear foot, by the square foot, by the yard, by the square (roofing and siding) or by the job, plus typical material costs. We keep it updated so you can judge a bid with confidence.

Vetted crews to choose from

We bring you independent crews for the job, with insurance reviewed by a licensed agent. You compare them, decide who to hire, and contract with them directly.

A project assistant when you get stuck

Questions come up mid-project. You can reach your RPS project assistant for advice on next steps, paperwork and keeping the job on track.

Our guides and forms are general information to help you organize your project. They are not legal advice. For legal questions about your situation, talk with a Texas attorney.

Questions

Good to know before you start.

Can I download the guide, forms or pricing guideline from the website?

No. None of the program materials are available online. They are for RPS clients only. All materials are sent once you sign an engagement letter and hire RPS Trades as your trusted advisor.

Do I get a separate guide for each project?

Yes. Each project you want to manage gets its own guide, so the steps match the work you are doing.

Who hires and pays the crew?

You do. You choose the crew and contract with them directly. RPS does not perform the work.

What is a lien waiver, and why does it matter?

A lien waiver is a signed form saying a contractor, sub or supplier has been paid for a certain amount and gives up the right to file a lien on your property for it. Texas law sets the wording for these forms. Collecting the right one with each payment helps show that money is settled.

Will RPS deal with my insurance company?

No. RPS does not handle, negotiate, advise on, or adjust insurance claims. Project support covers organizing and running the work itself.
